Kitsilano Character Home Refresh
A full-home re-covering project for a 1920s character home — faux wood blinds, roman blinds, and motorized skylight shades.
This Kitsilano character home had its original single-pane sash windows, each a slightly different size after decades of settling. We measured all eighteen windows individually rather than assuming a standard size, which caught three openings that were out of square by enough to matter.
The main floor kitchen and bathroom received faux wood blinds for moisture resistance, the dining and living rooms got roman blinds in a linen-look fabric to match new drapery, and a rear addition skylight was fitted with a motorized honeycomb shade — solving a room that had been unusably hot every summer afternoon.
