Roman Blinds

Roman Blinds

Soft fabric folds that lift into tailored horizontal pleats.

Roman blinds bring genuine fabric — the same weight and range you'd choose for drapery — into a structured, lifting shade. Flat when down, folding into neat horizontal pleats when raised, they're the softest-looking shade in our range and the one most often chosen to match an existing fabric or design scheme.

Features

Why choose roman blinds

Drapery-grade fabric range

Choose from the same fabric books used for custom drapery, including linen, cotton blends, and performance textiles.

Flat or hobbled fold

A flat fold gives clean horizontal lines when raised; a hobbled fold keeps soft, cascading pleats even when the shade is down.

Blackout lining available

Add a blackout or thermal lining behind any face fabric without changing its appearance from the front.

Cordless and motorized lift

The lift system is fully hidden behind the fabric, so nothing distracts from the pleat and pattern.

The shade that starts with fabric, not mechanism

Most shades are chosen by mechanism first (roller, cellular, vertical) and fabric second. Roman blinds tend to go the other way — a client falls in love with a specific fabric or pattern, and the roman fold is simply the best way to turn that fabric into a functioning shade. If you're matching an existing sofa, wallpaper, or drapery elsewhere in the home, this is usually where we start.

Flat fold vs. hobbled fold

A flat-fold roman blind lies smooth against the window when lowered and stacks into clean horizontal bands when raised — the more tailored, contemporary option. A hobbled-fold roman blind keeps soft, scalloped pleats even when fully closed, giving a more traditional, textile-forward look. Both use the same lift mechanism; the difference is purely how the fabric is finished.

Adding a lining

Because the face fabric is often chosen for pattern rather than performance, we frequently add a blackout or thermal lining behind it — invisible from the room side, but giving the shade real light-blocking or insulating performance to match its looks.

Reviews

What our clients say

The whole process from measuring to install was fast and professional. Our living room blinds fit perfectly and the price was better than two other quotes we got.

FAQ

Common questions

In many cases, yes — bring us the bolt or source and we'll assess whether it's suitable for a working shade (weight, stability, and railroading requirements all matter). We can also source from our own fabric books.
