Skylight Shades
Motorized shading for the windows you can't reach by hand.
Skylights let in more heat and glare than any vertical window, and they're almost never within reach of a manual wand or cord. We spec motorized honeycomb and roller shades specifically for skylight and sloped-glass applications, controlled by remote, wall switch, or app — solving both the light problem and the access problem at once.
Why choose skylight shades
Purpose-built motorization
Motors and mounting hardware rated for sloped and overhead installation, not a retrofitted vertical-window motor.
Honeycomb or roller fabric
Insulating honeycomb cells for heat control, or a solar/blackout roller fabric depending on the room below.
Remote, switch, or app control
Every skylight shade we install includes a remote at minimum, with wall switch and app/voice control available as an upgrade.
Solves real heat gain
Skylights are a major source of unwanted summer heat gain — a shading solution here often changes how usable the room is in July and August.
The problem skylights create
A skylight brings in beautiful light — and, in summer, a disproportionate amount of solar heat gain, because the glass faces the sun far more directly than a vertical window ever does. Without shading, the room below can become uncomfortably hot for hours at a time, and there's rarely a practical way to reach the skylight by hand to do anything about it.
Why motorization isn't optional here
Unlike a standard window, a skylight shade genuinely needs to be motorized in almost every case — there's no ladder-and-wand equivalent that's safe or practical for daily use on an overhead or steeply sloped opening. We install motors and mounting brackets rated specifically for sloped and ceiling installation, paired with a remote as the standard control method.
Choosing the fabric
For rooms with a real heat problem, we typically recommend an insulating honeycomb or a solar-rated roller fabric. For media rooms or bedrooms under a skylight, a blackout roller fabric is available to fully control light, not just heat.
What our clients say
“The whole process from measuring to install was fast and professional. Our living room blinds fit perfectly and the price was better than two other quotes we got.”

Common questions
In almost every case, yes — most skylights simply aren't reachable for manual operation, and the mounting hardware for sloped and overhead installs is built around motorized systems.
